In an eight-session course, held twice a month from September through December, we'll be following the travels of world-famous scholars, N. T. Wright & Michael F. Bird, as they uncover the setting in which the writings of the New Testament were composed.

Of all the things we could do, deepening our understanding of what scripture is and the cultural context in which it came to be is right at the top of the list. We are confident that those who participate in this excellent curriculum will experience a new love for these sacred texts.

In our tech-driven lives—separated more and more from physical contact with one another and the earth—we often think to ourselves, ‘Is this all there is?’ Having new experiences of growth with others in person relieves the stress and yearning we feel to understand the significance of life. Given how deeply we value the writings of the New Testament, the communal experience of revelation possible in this study will truly be a moment of expanding horizons for all who participate. Please prayerfully consider whether God is calling you deeper into the mystery of the Gospel.

N. T. Wright

N.T. Wright has held a variety of both academic and chaplaincy posts at Oxford, Cambridge, and McGill University, Montreal. He was Canon of Westminister in 2000, before serving as Bishop of Durham between 2003-2010. He is currently Research Professor Emeritus of New Testament and Early Christianity at St Mary’s College in the University of St Andrews and Senior Research Fellow at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford.

Michael F. Bird

Michael F. Bird (PhD University of Queensland) is academic dean and lecturer in New Testament at Ridley College in Melbourne, Australia. Michael is an ordained Anglican priest and author of over thirty books on the Bible, theology, and history. Among them are Introducing Paul, Jesus is the Christ, and with N.T. Wright, The New Testament in its World.
